Hello,
It has been pointed out to me that it’s much better to set up threads in a normal newsletter than in the Chat. Apparently it’s far easier for people to take part if they’re not using the Substack app, which is something I hadn’t thought of before. So here I am, just in case you’re confused.
Anyway - what’s been capturing your stray attention lately?
I’ve been watching Community with Bert, who loves to binge his way through comedy boxsets, and so I was delighted to see Autistic Culture posting a deep-dive about the show on their podcast this week. I am now obsessed. Help me.
I’ve also read The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year by Margaret Renkl, which is an absolutely beautiful diary of the teeming life around us. The illustrations are sumptuous.
I’ve also just started Rebecca Boyle’s Our Moon: A Human History, which looks very interesting, and Kirsty Sedgman’s On Being Unreasonable, which takes aim at the idea that being ‘reasonable’ will solve society’s problems. It turns out that ‘reasonable’ is very much in the eye of the beholder.
Over to you - tell us what you’re reading, watching, and generally experiencing lately - it’s always wonderful to read your recommendations!
Take care,
Katherine

I am currently reading "Dancing the Dream" by Sams Jamie.
Also David Wagoner's poetry collection "Who shall be the sun?" - his poem "Lost" already engraved in me. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/browse?contentId=31967
"The Penguin Book of the Prose Poem" is another book I savour slowly - "Goodtime Jesus" by James Tate is on my mind these couple of days. https://poets.org/poem/goodtime-jesus
And I just discovered Michael Young's Substack "Life Crumbs" https://lifecrumbs.substack.com/
Have a great week, all of you!
Oh I like this ❤️
I’ve been reading ‘Set me on fire’ a poetry anthology by Ella Risbridger - her notes in the margin are wonderful, it feels like I’m reading along with her
I’ve also been spending a lot of time on the Poetry Pals Substack - there’s a poetry prompt every Sunday and we share them with each other on Fridays. It’s really beautiful ✨
