Thanks for bringing us along on your journey, Katherine! Currently sick with a cold and taking your wintering advice to let it disrupt the mundane.

It’s been such a joy watching you from afar. My substack has a bookclub and we are reading and discussing Wintering Feb 5. Congrats on launch and feel better soon.

Dearest Katherine, I am so sorry you have been sick. Being sick is the pits. I pre-ordered a month ago and can’t wait to read it! I loved Wintering. Take good care of yourself.

So fascinating Katherine - I had some idea but not as in depth as this and of course each book and writer will be different! I am really looking forward to reading your new words. I’m reading The Electricity of Every Living Thing at the moment and smiling along with your determination from my sofa! X x

The amount of work behind each book is incredible - of course, not every process is the same and some writers don't get nearly enough support. I feel very lucky.

Absolutely cannot wait to read this one. Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your process -- as a fellow writer/author, it is so illuminating to see the path others move through. Wishing you all the best in the upcoming launch -- may it offer you a kind of enchantment in its own way. xx

Thanks Lisa. I always totally geek out at any behind-the-scenes glimpses into the publication process. We're all so separate! There needs to be an author university out there!

Wow. As a budding author whose had CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and suffered from having limits this is very helpful to read. I really liked the insight into the publication process. Thanks Katherine and I really hope you feel better soon :)

I think the good news is that different authors participate to different levels and in different ways. There’s definitely always the option to say no. But of course, we all want to do whatever we can for our books. I’m learning to be more selective to preserve my energies!

As much as I love the idea of writing a book one day, that process sounds mildly terrifying!! Your new book launches on my 40th birthday so I’ll definitely have to put in a pre-order this weekend 😉

It definitely sometimes feels like playing with the big kids and being slightly out of my depth! But it’s fun! I think you definitely deserve a nice book to read on your birthday 🥳

There's something so elegant about the simplicity of a book, but that simplicity hides a lot of moving parts! Thank you for sharing some of them with us. Wintering was life-altering for me. I can't wait to read Enchantment! Will you be speaking in NY anytime soon?

For now, take care of yourself!

Thank you! I haven’t got anything booked in person at the moment, but there’s an online event for the East Coast that I’ll be announcing soon :)

What a journey thank you taking the time to let us know the back story of publishing. I will call my local book shop now. I actually tried to get for a friend for Christmas so now I am able to full fill what I told her about you! Take good care …

This is fascinating, Katherine. I’m about to start looking for a home for my own non-fiction book proposal so it’s really helpful to hear about your process and progress. Hoping to come and see you in Cambridge.
