Wow, there's something almost chilling in the way Maggie Smith describes her discovery. What fabulous writing!

Amazing book, it stayed in my head for days after I finished it. The story, emotions are so intense, so raw that I found myself laughing and crying from page to page. What a beautiful, strong person Maggie Smith must be to trust readers with her vulnerability and soul in this way. 🩷

I can’t remember how long I waited for this from pre-order to delivery but it was my favorite book last year. It’s on my bedside in part because the cover art is so beautiful. Look forward to this discussion.

What a powerful passage. Every ounce of description is doing work for the story, the atmosphere, and yet nothing feels contrived. There’s something about her riff on the windows, which is funny, that really opened my heart and made the last section so heartbreaking. Wow. Just wow.
