This is out of sync with the normal pattern of things - I wasn’t well enough to ask last week, and this time next week, I’ll be on a plane to Japan! So, let’s do this now…
What’s been caputuring your stray attention lately?
Use the comments below to share the books, films, TV shows, cultural events and everything else you’ve been absorbed in. I always love to read them, so please don’t be shy :)
Personally, I’ve been watching Kim’s Convenience with Bert - it’s funny and heartwarming, but I’m surprised he likes it so much - and I’ve just started reading Magic For Beginners by Kelly Link, which is great so far. But most importantly, I’m holding Easter Sunday today, because I don’t want to lug Easter eggs all around Japan in my suitcase. So I’m currently in the process of dying boiled eggs and arranging daffodils ready for when the boys wake up. This is not why they call Easter a moveable feast, but we’ll make do.
Take care - I look forward to your recommendations!

I saw Patti Smith the other night performing with Soundwalk Collective and I was blown away. Still am.
I am reading "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer and I really don't want it to end.
Enjoy your moveable feast with your boys!
I was surprised to find myself watching "One Day on Netflix and even more surprised to find myself enjoying it.
I've just started reading Hester by Margaret Oliphant and am enjoying it so far. And I've just finished reading a wonderful book called Enchantment, which I loved 😊
Enjoy Japan! the weather here in Tokyo's going to be pretty good for cherry blossom viewing. 🌸
