Things we will do, us future readers, out here in numbers that might astonish you:
-Pre-order (obvs)
-Sit on the edge of our seats
-Get ready to say nice things on social media
-Get ready to drop you a note to say that wow, you've done it again, only differently
-Totally understand if in the middle of the upcoming whirlwind you disappear for long breaks where we don't heard from you for weeks, long breaks involving nice views and warm feet and endless cups of tea and good biscuits, no, *excellent* biscuits, crack out the very best biscuits, if not now, then when?
With my debut memoir coming out later this year, this resonated deeply. And comforted me deeply - the slightly deranged feeling I have had all week since knowing that preorders have gone live is not mine alone! This is normal! (In a sense.) Thank you so much for this.
And this, THIS, is why we—the great throng of us who need your words (remember those Wintering numbers, we are legion, disposed to love, lighting be damned!)—will feel all month as if it’s Christmas Eve. The nest is already here: we are the nest. You need do nothing at all to deserve the soft, joyful landing we’re preparing for you. So much love—and, over and over, thank you. x
I pre-ordered a while back and am so excited that the book will be nearly out and for us all to read ✨ Wishing you calm, groundedness and joy over the coming weeks x
Oh my I can’t wait to read this!! And absolutely relate to this feeling right now, as I am but less than a week away of my own book of essays coming out. It does feel so surreal. And the lighting is essential!!
All the best to you, Katherine. You do not wait alone--so many are cheering for you, quietly, with feathers and quilts and pillows to soften the landing as you have for us.
I have never published a memoir but highlighted so many parts of this piece. I find myself highlighting most of your words because they are so relatable to me. I write about very private parts of my life online and know exactly how it feels to want everyone to read and no one to read. Or to read but not talk to you about it in person.
I received an advanced copy of your new book through a Goodreads giveaway and am more than halfway through. My friend wasn't so lucky to get this preview and pre-ordered your book. I've already sent her notes on which chapters I know she'll love as much as I have. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world. As a fellow Autistic creative, it really means so much.

Aaah Mike, you are the best! Thank you 🤍

Aaah 🥰🥰🥰
A white rainbow has captured my imagination. May it light you perfectly in every zoom !
Excited to devour the audiobook, as I did with Wintering!
It is now recorded, so you’ll be able to listen very soon!
And THIS is why we love you so much and why you and your books are SO needed in our lives! <3 Sending you extra love, Katherine, and THANK YOU.
Thank you :)

I could write a whole post about the lighting alone - with diagrams 🤣 Good luck with your launch!
Thank you x
You have so got this - the golfing equivalent of a hole in one. Happy dreams!
Thank you ⛳️
“You will tell yourself that you’re thankful for these grounding influences, without fully meaning it.” 😂 Sending all the tea leaves for comfort!
I’ll be honest - if there were a cat litter tray scooping service, I’d pay for it 😅
Hahaha! Manifest your wildest dreams.
So beautiful. This put a big smile on my face.

Looking forward to reading it. Sorry to find out the Oxford date is sold out.
